Merchants are facing an increasingly fractured consumer payments landscape. The growth of new digital payment methods, such as digital wallets or Pay by Bank, has led to merchants needing to accept a wider range of payment methods than before. Omnichannel payment platforms allow merchants to accept a range of payment methods, while bringing the management and data of the different channels into one place.

Juniper Research forecasts that the total global revenue generated from omnichannel payment solutions will grow from $46.53 billion in 2026 to $108.36 billion in 2031. This represents revenue growth of 128% over the forecast period.

As merchants increasingly adopt unified commerce platforms, solution providers will benefit from rising demand for integrated payment acceptance, software services, and value-added capabilities.

About the Infographic

The infographic illustrates how the total revenue from omnichannel payments is expected to grow by 2031. The infographic splits into six sources of revenue, which include:

  • POS terminals transaction fees
  • Website eCommerce transaction fees
  • Mobile app eCommerce transaction fees
  • In-store A2A transaction fees
  • QR code transaction fees
  • Subscription fees

The largest share, at 36.4%, is represented by POS terminals; making it the leading contributor to overall omnichannel solution revenue.

Mobile app eCommerce is also expected to be a significant contributor; accounting for 24.3% of forecast revenue, while subscription fees account for 17.6%. QR-code-based payments are projected to contribute 13.3%. By comparison, website eCommerce represents 7.1%, while in-store A2A accounts for just 1.3% of total forecast revenue.

Overall, the figures suggest that revenue from omnichannel payment solutions in 2031 will be driven predominantly by integrated and digitally enabled payment experiences, with the largest four categories collectively accounting for 91.6% of forecast revenue. The relatively small contribution from in-store A2A further highlights the shift towards newer, more integrated payment channels.
