Telco Insights - Vodafone Qatar and Microsoft Extend Partnerships to Boost Cellular IoT Capabilities
Vodafone Qatar and Microsoft have announced an extension to their partnership to broaden Vodafone Qatar’s IoT portfolio. Vodafone is currently using Microsoft’s Azure platform to host and deliver its own IoT solutions. This builds upon Vodafone’s announcement that it will invest over $5 billion into cellular IoT services and edge computing services. It announced that its IoT platform has over 10,000 enterprise customers.
Vodafone’s business customers range from those in the public sector to the broadcast media, and utility and construction companies. Services offered span from creating efficiencies within the workplace to improved connectivity, to harnessing emerging technology through the IoT, Cloud and hosting products, and mobile communications, security, and business connectivity.
