Telco Insights - US Mobile Carriers Request $5.6 Billion in Funding to Replace Huawei 5G

After the recent ban of Huawei 5G infrastructure, telecommunications operators in the US have submitted a request for $5.6 billion in funding from the FFC (Federal Communications Commission).

In 2020, it was announced that network operators across a number of countries worldwide, including the US and UK, would be banned from purchasing and using Huawei 5G equipment in its infrastructure after December 2020. This ban was due to a potential risk in national security.
