Telco Insights - UK Government Launches Telecommunications Lab to Support Future Network Innovation
The UK Government has announced the launch of a secure telecommunications research facility, which will serve as a collaborative space for network operators, suppliers and academics for future network innovation. This research facility will focus on strengthening the security and performance of mobile networks in the UK, whilst also ensuring resilience for further generations of cellular connectivity.
The newly announced research facility will be located in Solihull, within the West Midlands region of the UK. It will serve as a testbed for telecommunications stakeholders, including network operators and equipment suppliers; reducing the time-to-market for new solutions and supporting the development of secure and resilient network technology.
