Telco Insights - Ericsson Announces Plans to Acquire Cloud Communications Services Provider, Vonage
Ericsson has announced that it has agreed to acquire Vonage for $6.2 billion. Ericsson is a network vendor and telecommunications provider based in Stockholm, Sweden. In September 2020, Ericsson acquired Cradlepoint, a US-based market leader in Wireless WAN Edge 4G and 5G solutions for the enterprise which brings wireless connectivity solutions for fixed/temporary services and IoT devices to create new revenue opportunities for mobile operator customers. The landmark partnership is expected to accelerate the adoption of the company’s 5G and Wireless WAN solutions.
Vonage is a communications vendor based in New Jersey, US. Vonage has a strong customer base in North America and Europe, and has begun making strides into increasing its presence in the Asia Pacific region and the Middle East. Additionally, Vonage has amassed an impressive client list in the financial and software sectors.
