Insights: Google Cloud and Airtel Partner for Generative AI and Cloud Service Development

May 2024
Telecoms & Connectivity

In May 2024, Google and Airtel announced a long-term partnership in which Google’s cloud services and generative AI products will be offered to Airtel’s extensive enterprise user base. As part of the partnership, Google Cloud will offer services such as geospatial analytics, location intelligence, predictive tools, asset management and risk management. Additionally, Airtel will train these generative AI tools with data from Airtel’s network and operations.

Notably, the service will also enable Airtel to offer novel voice services to its clients. The rise of conversational commerce applications and LLMs (large language models) ability to converse in multiple languages will likely provide a valuable service. Additionally, it will help grow the use of voice-based LLMs in the country, which has diverse spoken languages, including Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Urdu and English.
