Indian Government Declines to Ban Calling Services Via OTT & Social Media Apps

Last week, it was announced that India's DoT (Department of Telecommunications) would not ban calling services through OTT (Over-the-Top) and social media applications, with these calls not being held to the same level of regulation as mobile operators. Currently, the Telecommunication Act regulates licenced mobile operators, mandating them to identify and reduce the risk of cybersecurity compromises.
