Twicketer Mobile Tickets Make Chicago Debut at Reggie’s Rock Club
by Howard Wilcox on February 26th, 2010
Entertainment locations such as cinemas, theatres and night clubs are some of the places that we’re seeing mobile tickets deployed. This announcement by Twicketer is a case in point, but there are plenty of other examples from companies such as Trinity Mobile and Mobiqa.
At entertainment events mobile tickets mean greater security for users through protection against theft or loss of paper tickets. But for the event promoters and organisers, there are also benefits. Access control and avoidance of ticket fraud are two factors. No forwarding of tickets! They know in real time how many people have arrived and how many are still to arrive, for example.
Beyond this though, on a more positive note maybe, mobile tickets give promoters the opportunity to target customers with further offers, coupons and advertisements for future similar events (on an opt-in basis of course!).
And the great aspect is this. It’s far from a cold call. After all, they’re contacting existing customers who already like that type of music, or production. So the payback or response should be better than a traditional campaign.
Entertainment (and sports as well) are two of the three main markets for mobile tickets, along with transport.

For us old-fashioned-stand-in-long-lines-ticket-buyers this service is quite revolutionary and keeps us ahead of the crowd! Thank you for an opportunity to provide feedback.
